KINK Contemporary

BRAND IDENTITY | 2020

Get Kinky!

KINK Contemporary is an art gallery located in the Waterloo Arts District of Cleveland. Founders McKenzie and Anna came to Yikes Design in 2019 in need of a brand refresh to reflect the innovative, bold, and inclusive nature of the work they display in their space. Our solution was to create a logo that would be as impactful as their brand name and instantly recognizable while creating an identity that is flexible enough to work with the variety of art they host. We expanded on their existing pink color palette and included a range of energetic colors and patterns to reflect the personality of the brand.

Our branding for KINK helped them grab the attention of Cleveland Cavaliers player, Larry Nance Jr., during his campaign to support local minority-owned businesses during the pandemic. He wore a shirt featuring the KINK logo, promoted KINK on social with photos of him in the shirt, and donated nearly $3,000 directly to KINK.
